Billionaire Charlie Munger is proposing to demolish the Barry Building, former home of Dutton's Books, in order to clear the way for a 75,000 square foot retail/restaurant development in Brentwood known as "Green Hollow Square".
The Barry Building was designated an Historic-Cultural Monument by the City of Los Angeles in 2007.
The proposed new project will increase the driveway volume at the site by more than 2,400 cars per day. There is no meaningful way to mitigate the traffic impacts without reducing the size of the project and/or changing the uses (less restaurant square footage).
